The Mönchsjoch Hut is situated in the middle of the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage, at the origin of the Great Aletsch Glacier.
The Mönchsjoch Hut is the highest occupied hut, completely situated in Switzerland.
The hut is ideally located and recommended for:
A day trip from the Jungfraujoch (daytime restaurant with cold and warm dishes)
Natural and impressive hut overnight stay in the high mountains
Starting point and useful base for various summits in winter or in summer, glacier trekking or snow-shoe tours
Christian Almer, Maxi Weiner & a motivated team are responsible for the hut warded from March till the end of October.
You are sleeping in multi-bed rooms (10-12 beds). All beds with Nordic style duvets. For your personal hygiene, please take a light cotton or silk sleeping bag with you (mandatory!).
Overnight stays have to be booked in advance.
With your booking, you can post as well a dinner (3-course menu) and a breakfast reservation (buffet). For the next day, lunch, tea and other drinks are available for sale.
Food & Drink (half-pension & day guests)
We offer simple but delicious, warm and cold dishes in the restaurant during the day. For example cheese toast, hut soup, «Zvieriteller» (cold snacks), various other simple, but delicious menus.
Of course you will find as well warm and cold drinks, such as various coffees, wines and draught beer on the menu.
